Abstract
Background & Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of emotion regulation training on social harms of female junior high school students in Aliabad Katul. Method: This study is a quasi-experimental research (pre-test-post-test design with control group). The statistical population of this study is all female junior high school students in Aliabad Katul in the academic year 1402-1403, which is 4100 people. Using the convenience sampling method, 30 female junior high school students were selected and randomly assigned to two experimental groups (15 people) and control (15 people). In eight sessions, the emotion regulation training protocol based on the Grass model (2002) was implemented for the experimental group. The data collection tool was the Aghaei and Timurtash (2010) Attitudes to Social Harms Questionnaire. Findings: The results showed that the intervention of emotion regulation training is effective on social harms of female students (p<0.05). Conclusion: Considering the effectiveness of emotion regulation training on social harms of students, this treatment method can be recommended to prevent and reduce the tendency towards social harms of students.
