Abstract
Background and purpose: The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of mindfulness training on emotional regulation and quality of life of mothers with slow pace children. Method: The statistical population included all mothers with slow-paced children in Gorgan in the academic year 1402-1403, from which 30 were selected using the available sampling method and randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. The experimental group received mindfulness training based on the Kabat-Zinn (1990) approach in 12 sessions 90-minute group, and the control group received no intervention. The research tools included the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire (1996) and the Garnevski et al Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (2001). Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance. Results: The results showed that mindfulness training increased emotional regulation and quality of life in mothers with slow pace children(P<0/01). Conclusion: Based on the findings of the present study, interventions based on this approach can be useful in increasing emotional regulation and quality of life for these women.
